Obama Crushes Perry In New Poll
The Business Insider ^ | 10/12/11 | Zeke Miller

A new Rasmussen poll is pouring salt on Texas Gov. Rick Perry's wounds.

The struggling one-time front-runner is now trailing President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup 49 percent to 35 percent. Obama was leading Perry six or fewer points in two recent Rasmussen polls — and Perry narrowly polled ahead of Obama in early September.

Perry would fare worse than businessman Herman Cain, who in a poll last week trailed Obama 42 percent to 39 percent. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney polls even with Obama — the best of the Republican presidential candidates.

I agree with you, but Perry needs to get his act together or he’s almost toast. Can you imagine him in a presidential debate acting like this? I shudder to think of it.

BUT if he wins the nomination, he has my vote. I’ll vote for whoever the polls show will beat the Marxist Kenyan. End of story. It’s my vote, my right and I will not sit home and blame myself for his re-election. SO some will have to suck it up and accept the fact that I will vote for whichever GOP candidate wins the nomination. I will NOT ever vote for Romney or Huntsman or Paul in the primary.
That’s my stance and I’m sticking to it.

“Any candidate other than the surrender monkey.”

Well you are correct. I probably would not vote for Ron Paul. Thanks for the reminder.

Maybe. But he’s the only one doing it.

I do not concern myself with organization or cash on hand. I vote for the candidate that best matches my values and my views. That man is Herman Cain.

Then Perry, then Newt, then Bachmann, Santorum and that’s about it.

But in the general? ABO.

“Not surprising... I get the impression from many Freepers’ posts that they’d rather have Romney as president, or even see Obama re-elected, over Perry.

Perplexing.

My thought exactly. You never see them openly shill for Romney around here cause they know it’s a non-starter, but you can tell by the way they savage the only guy in the race who seems interested in defeating Romney that he’s who they ultimately want.

As to these polls-totally meaningless at this point. Hardly anyone in the general electorate is paying attention. I seem to recall Reagan trailing Carter by double-digits in around November of 1979. Further, I don’t buy any “electability” argument against a POTUS with an approval of around 38% and nearly double-digit unemployment. If we have a true conservative running (NOT ROMNEY!!) this could be 1980 all over again.

“But, I’d vote for a blind, three-legged, retarded dog before I’d vote for Obama.”

Many Freepers are saying that. The candidate most likely to win the general would be the one that appeals most to moderates, independents, and conservative democrats, and that makes overtures to them. Looks like that would be Romney, so we might as well all just get behind him. Just sayin.

BS. One could make the same argument about Cain. I think Perry and Cain splitting the conservative vote is a big problem and may allow Romney to get in. I have no love for either Perry or Cain.

Hey, if you’re ok with the man-whore that is Cain, more power to you. Maybe y’all can go around and just whisper “nine-nine-nine” and something magical will happen...lol

You are correct also though, he is not GOP, and has no chance of being our nominee.

Well, yes Obama is "hated" by plenty of people. In fact, probably by the majority. But if they appear on the news they are depicted as racists.

I don't know anyone, including my dear liberal wife who actually thinks Obama is a competent leader. She even said the other night that she could "live" with Romney as POTUS, because he seems reasonable.

IMHO, forget who is the "perfect" republican, the goal is to get the Marxist OUT of the WH. The judges the republican appoints would make up for a lot. Kennedy and Ginsberg would be nicely replaced by conservative appointees.

I do not think too many conservatives will vote for someone who advocates illegal alien benefits like Perry.

Fortunately, it is also the wrong impression. So it is neither

perplexing

nor sickening

See now that’s the great thing about you Perry folks, you’re just so gash darned personable that folks can’t help but like you enough to want to listen to what your candidate has to stammer about.

Rasmussen is the best pollster in the business. The fact that he’s showing this monster at 49% and ahead of every potential GOP candidate in the field should scare the hell out of every member of this forum.

The country will not survive this electorate.

NO, NO, NO. When the Conservatives are winnowed out, the Pubbie Primary voters will join forces in the Primaries and vote as a block for the Conservative. Right now, there are too many Conservatives splitting the Conservative vote.

I haven't kept a record of your comments...you aren't that important. Your name triggers "here comes less than the truth" when I see it.

I'll notify you in the future when I think you are lying!
