HANOVER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential candidate Mitt Romney took some less staunchly conservative stands than his rivals in their debate Tuesday night, declaring he can work with "good" Democrats and positioning himself closer to the center in line with his claim that he can draw crucial independent voters in next year's general election.
He even defended portions of the Wall Street bailout, a particular sore point with many conservative voters who will play an important role in choosing the Republican nominee next winter and spring.

JimRob. IMHO we need to get the word out that conservatives won’t vote for Romney, no matter his VP! This site ties in to so many blogs we can make the GOPEEONUS rethink their position, but it has to be done soon and be continuous. Make Romney irrelevant. Make the gop rethink their stategy. Make them have to accept Perry or Cain. I’m not a believer that they’ll just go along w another zero 4 yrs. That’s just good poker on their part. They want the reins? Make them have to make a ethical choice. I thought we could do it w Palin but I think we can do it w Perry or Cain.

He might “draw” some independent votes but he won’t get any TRUE conservative votes, which he should be trying to get. I’m tired of being taken for granted.
Romney’s “good democrat” comment reminding me of John McCain and his “reach across the aisle” B.S.

RINOs act like the difference between Republicans and Democrats is something genetic, like the difference between a black man and a white man or a man and a woman. We must therefore learn tolerance. No, the philosophy of Democrats is based on every one of the seven deadly sins, except for gluttony, which is only present in some Democrats such as Michael Moore.

The more I see and hear these candidates the more I think the Republicrats are going to throw this election , too .
If I wanted some one who could work with Democrats, I would vote for a Democrat. I want some one who will stand firm on conservative values, stand up to Democrats, and will aggressively turn our country back to our founding principles.

Republicans are not our friends.
They can not be counted on. They can not be trusted. They do not LIKE conservatives.
We need to get that through our heads.
The way this is going, we need to start discussing whether a republican congress, House and Senate, will be able to thwart Marxist Obama during his second term? And will there be any Republicans with the guts to do so?
And he demonstrated it in the middle of the debate. Perry asked him about why his plan cut capital gains taxes only for people earning below $200,000.
Romney's answer was, and I paraphrase, "The rich are doing fine. The poor have their safety nets. The middle class needs the tax cuts."
Right out of Obama's teleprompter. At heart he's a class warfare elitist who divides us into groups that can be played against each other.

The major flaw in your theory is assuming that the Establishment actually is patriotic, wants power and is capable of making ethical choices.
Until the TEA party can affect a real transformation, the GOP is a go-along-to-get-along-watch-the-country-burn-down-in-flames party.
The Executive is a multi-trillion dollar international slush-fund. Do you really think a pizza guy is going to beat the entrenched Establishment's choice?

I’m a conservative and if Romney is the nominee I will vote for him.
Among ordinary citizens, there are plenty of good Democrats--I even know a few (I may disagree completely with their political views but recognize them as good people). It's just when you get to the political class, and especially at the national level, that good Democrats are as rare as hens' teeth.
Sounds to me like the sequel to that 2008 box office disaster of a horror film, “MAVERICK”.
I walked out of that movie. God help us if they try running it again.
