Spartanburg, SC (FOX Carolina) - A protest against Wall Street, like hundreds that have been held all over the country, has been scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Spartanburg.
The demonstration originally started in New York and focused on Wall Street and corporate greed. However, as the protests have spread to other locations, demonstrators have added a number of other grievances like police brutality, global warming and the death penalty.
According to the permit filed with Spartanburg police, the rally was called a "solidarity demonstration" as part of the "Occupy Wall Street" protest in New York City.
The protest will be held at Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg from 8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday, according to the permit.
The permit said about 50 people would be participating.
Spartanburg? Really? They’re going to have to bus in a rentamob because lying in the street, posing naked and relieving oneself in public are NOT Spartanburg folks at all.
—I hope it rains.—
I think these “occupy” protests would be an EXCELLENT place to really get all the signatures I need to get dihydrogen monoxide banned.

Not a violence post folks, just statement of fact regarding the Great Middle Class, the Silent Majority, which will NOT countenance this Bolshevism by young people with too much time on their hands being duped, as usual.
I guess they’re objecting to the thriving financial sector in Spartanburg??
“Occupy Wall Street” protest in New York City...”
There was one in Norfolk Va last week according to WNIS 790 and 4 people showed up. Don’t know the final total.
I’ll be shocked if 10 people show up. LOL.
I hope it rains.
That would be the first bath the smelly hippies had in weeks;)
Hey, we could send you a contingent from Asheville.
As a rule, Southern law enforcement knows how to handle such matters. They haven’t handled this kind of stuff for 45 years, so they’re a bit out of shape, but they’ll get the hang of it quiclky enough.
Here they come....
There's a tip off if there ever was one.
With the influx of international business over the last twenty years, the home of the Beacon is more liberal than many would think. Not yet as bad as Greenville, but it is getting there.

Errr, no thanks. Why do the hippy freaks always settle in the beautiful places? Grrrr. Well, at least Louisiana doesn’t appeal to them - if they slept out at night they would be eaten alive by mosquitos and our summers are long and always in the 90s. Our police do not pamper and our courts have no sense of humor.
Beat me to it.
Now that´s funny.
