Occupy Wall Street

Right now, New York is under siege by a bunch of spoiled jerks who demand everything they want while doing nothing to deserve it.

For the first few weeks, the “Occupy Wall Street” movement—a mob of unemployed layabouts who mostly appear to be around my age—wouldn’t say what they were protesting, besides “Wall Street criminals.” Then, when people laughed at them, they issued a list of thirteen demands.

This list, of course, is a list of stuff they want for free without having to lift a finger.

Demand one is “restoration of the living wage,” which they set at twenty dollars per hour. Many young professionals, service workers, and blue-collar laborers support themselves on less money than that. But based on how much time they have to protest, I doubt they had plans to work for even twenty dollars an hour.

Demand two is a “universal single payer health care system.” No medical bills! That works out well for people who don’t work, as we see next.

Demand three is a “guaranteed living wage regardless of employment.” They want everything for free, even if they never work a day in their lives. Who raised these jerks to think their every need should be met by everyone else?

Demand four is a “free college education.” Since the protestors have clearly stated that they shouldn’t have to get jobs, I assume they want to spend six years in college smoking pot and having their heads filled with crap in sociology class, while never paying a dime for it. When I went to Ohio University, some of the most belligerent left-wing agitators were in their late twenties. The most violent anti-war protest I witnessed on campus was led by a 29-year-old man who had been a part-time student for ten years. (He added to this despicable display by trying to assault a Marine.)

Demands eleven and twelve are “immediate debt forgiveness for all” and “outlaw all credit reporting agencies.” I'm guessing the protesters racked up a bunch of frivolous purchases on credit cards, never paid the bills, and now don't want the landlord to find out and refuse to let them sign a lease because they have no intention of paying the rent, either.

The rest of the demands are a smorgasbord of left-wing gibberish, like a “racial and gender equality amendment” and “open borders migration.” (They probably want “open borders migration” so immigrants working as hotel maids and landscapers can add to the taxpayer pot they’re going to take from.)

But for now, let’s focus on the protestor’s enormous sense of entitlement and their self-worship. They use comically grandiose language to describe their pointless protests, calling themselves “revolutionaries.” They think they’re saving the world, chanting slogans like “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for!” and “The world is watching!”

Needless to say, entitlement and an inflated sense of self-importance are the hallmark traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Narcissists also tend to turn violent when their demands aren’t met, which explains why Occupy Wall Street protesters go around beating up middle-class cops who are trying to preserve order. And this movement is not small. There’s now an “Occupy Chicago” and “Occupy Seattle” wing, among others. That’s a whole lot of narcissists rampaging through the streets.

Besides, who do they think will pay for all the free stuff they want? Not just “Wall Street.” The protesters want McDonald’s cashiers, plumbers, firefighters, and 18-year-olds working two jobs to put themselves through nursing school to pay them to do nothing. Anyone who gets up, goes to work, and has taxes deducted from their paychecks will be footing the bill for “free college education” and “a guaranteed living wage regardless of employment.”

If thousands of ungrateful losers can take to the streets demanding these absurd entitlements, I’m afraid my generation might be the worst we’ve ever seen since middle-class, college-educated Baby Boomers fancying themselves “radicals” were spitting on disabled Vietnam vets.

Thank the wimpy parents and school administrators who created this mess.

I can’t wait for it to get cold and all we’ll have left is Occupy Phoenix, Occupy LA and Occupy Dallas. Then the rest of them can go back to Occupying Parental Sofas.

What a bunch of lost and confused losers.

At that age in life they should be working on getting their ticket punched... moving along and developing proper work habits.

The cult of standing around with your hand out and angry with world is a true waste of time.

Go home and bathe, shave, comb your hair and get to work. Doing nothing and demanding everything is NOT constructive.

It is NOT only happening to YOU.

I worked in a dirty factory when I got out of HS. But I was convinced that I had to start SOMEWHERE.

When I came home from work, I was so filthy my mother made me go down the basement to undress and wash!!

Perhaps it’s time for patriots to liberate those occupied territories and the subjugated citizens living under the oppressive yoke of smelly hippies and other assorted cretins. I find it quite ironic Vichy Bloomberg proclaimed the fleatraps can stay there as long as they wish.

This is societies’ fault. As a Nation we’ve raised a crop of idiots that have no comprehension of basic economics…like where goods come from, how they’re produced and why. We’ve taught them milk comes from a container, money from the government and ‘The Man’ is responsible for all the problems of the world.

It's pretty obvious they don't realize that even if employers were to keep employees whose labor wasn't worth twenty dollars per hour, a big stretch on its own, that prices of all goods and services would go up, such that all consumers, including the flea partiers, would in the end pay for it.

I want to move into technical writing. As I am having trouble finding a full time job, I am taking simple freelance jobs through elance and odesk in my spare time. Before even getting these jobs, I took entry-level jobs that would help my portfolio and get hours and evaluation ratings. $20.00/hr? Hah! The competition can include people from the Phillippines and Bangladesh. They will go as low as 26 cents an hour. I don’t expect to pull $20/hour for some time. Heck, I don’t make that at my day job and I have a nice apartment, running car, and get out to cultural/entertainment things once a week or so. To me, that’s not a bad life.

I am constantly working and though my education is complete, I am still struggling. There have always been things I do without and I am certain there will always be things I do without.

New cars, vacations, the latest kind of TV, the newest and best of everything is out of the question. It’s just like that for me so I have to be frugal.

Running up debt for all this stuff is stupid, but the people complaining right now on Wall Street, own expensive i phones (I don’t) and they accrue debt they probably will NEVER pay off.

I especially resent our stupid and conceited President suggesting that WE need to make sacrifices.....!!!!!! WTF, my whole working life is sacrifice while these losers demonstrating on Wall Street have never disciplined themselves, make no demands on themselves and deny themselves NOTHING!!!

I wish I knew if they were going to get their demands, especially the across the board debt-foregiveness part. I’d really like to buy a nice house on the beach at a bargain price, but it would be so much easier if I knew I wouldn’t actually need to pay for it.
