I'm not surprised I got a question like this from Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC. Given the mindset of Mr. O'Donnell and most of his colleagues, it's to be expected that he would cite my statement that Occupy Wall Street protesters have only themselves to blame if they are unemployed or lacking wealth and ask if I wanted to apologize for saying so.
Not a chance.
In fact, I would add this: Anyone who abandons these protests and tries taking my advice is almost certain to end up better off. That's because it's empowering to you when you stop blaming other people for your situation, and start taking responsibility for yourself.

“...it’s empowering to you when you stop blaming other people for your situation, and start taking responsibility for yourself.”
“When you blame others, you give up your power to change.”
Robert Anthony
Another well-written commentary from Mr. Cain. It’s a shame the losers of “Occupy” have proven they cannot learn from this sort of good advice and are destined in most cases never to have a productive occupation.
Absolutely! And that point is completely missed by those empty skulls who think "empowerment" comes from greater levels of income redistribution. Perpetual victimhood does not empower.
I find it interesting that WND changed the title.
Here is the original title.
Occupy Wall Street protesters: Blame yourselves, empower yourselves
Conservative Republicans shouidl stay off MSNBC completely..O’Donnell isn’t a journo..even an opinionista..he’s a psycho hard left attack dog..Cain gives him..dare I say it..both gravitas AND ratings..
Nail on head
Steve Jobs was abandoned at birth, dropped out of college, and got fired from Apple. He never wallowed in self-pity, never sought to blame others for his plight, and never sought a government hand-out. Instead, throughout his life, he took responsibility for himself and had an impact on the world that these protesters can only dream about.
The more I see and hear about this guy, the more I like him.
The “IN YOUR FACE” attitude with the sickening MSM and the sage advice, albeit wasted, for the protesters has me thinking this guy has a decent shot.
If he is still in the race by the time primaries are held around here, he has my support. In fact, I plan to make a contribution as soon as I can.
Good advice from Mr Cain.
Great posting.................guys/gals out there in Freeper land, this article, read thoroughly and meditated on a few minutes, will go along way toward convincing you to “get over” Sarah and take a hard look at Herman Cain.
Being a solid conservative, and X Sarah Palin fan, and liking ole Rick Perry BUT FOR his immigration policies, I can honestly say that I can’t think of ANYTHING in this article attributed to Cain that I did nor really, really like.
As of today, Cain has my vote. Romney is NO WAY for me UNLESS and UNTIL he becomes the only vote I have against zero.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the next President of the United States...
And the flip side is true also. You get to take full credit when you succeed.
Notice that the left is upside down and things that should be attributed to or accrue to the individual are all about everybody ELSE...thus lack is due to failures of society and not self and bounty is to be given to others because it was attained by “luck” and not by effort of the person who ends up rich. Some mythical “others” are responsible for each individual’s lot in life, making them either poor or rich. This takes away the individual’s power over their own fate. Leftys think that life is ruled entirely by LUCK.
Right.
I think that, to them, LUCK is a better explanation for success than admitting success is the result of individual effort and even at times, personal sacrifice.
The only job I could get right out of HS, was a midnight shift in a factory. The pay was great for an unskilled entry level person, which I was. But I knew I could buy a car and get into college without a loan, if I worked at the factory for a couple years, first.
My parents helped me a lot, but since we were not wealthy, I did my share too. It was not easy all my friends were out having a ball going to parties and enjoying themselves. I was in a dark and dirty mill for 26 months working double shifts when I could get them. In the end, I bought my own car, cash, and enrolled in college without taking out a loan.
That’s beyond rabble.
Add to that: word is Jobs was quoted saying “I’m the only person I know who lost a quarter-billion dollars.”
Old rule about advice:
Wise men don’t need it, and fools won’t heed it.
