Protesters prepare to dig in for winter

The cold is coming -- and they know it.
As the Occupy Wall Street protesters head into their fourth week, the camp is preparing to dig in for the long haul. Saturday, thoughts were turning to basic human needs and ways to plan and strategize for the challenges ahead.
At Saturday's 9 a.m. coordination meeting, representatives on the numerous task forces dealt with the need for more donations of sleeping bags, ground pads and shoes. Right now there's an oversupply of socks, T-shirts and thermal blankets.
"The cold is definitely a concern for all of us," Olivia Nole-Malpezzi, 18, of Rochester said later. "We definitely need to prepare for the winter, mentally and physically. Donations are everything to us."
The challenges aren't deterring one Long Island protester.
"It's important," said Roy Sharkey, 51, of St. James. "I want this to be effective and result in some kind of change. I want to make a statement that's loud and clear and right, for my children," said the father of two, a carpenter and part-time musician now on disability.
Also discussed at the coordination meeting were compost, recycling, funding, and expanding the kitchen area to accommodate food donations.

“The weather will get cold and the protesters will run for the homeless shelters and force the homeless out into the streets to die.”
It would be fun to spread the rumor of this, send it viral. Name names.
End of protests.

I think we should drop off some ice water and lemonade, too.

Bloomberg, the mayor, is playing this thing all wrong and is overdue to clean these jackasses out of there.

At Saturday's 9 a.m. coordination meeting, representatives on the numerous task forces dealt with the need for more donations of sleeping bags, ground pads and shoes. Has anyone noticed how many pads, mattresses and sleeping bags are already in those massive piles of trash? If you don't work for it, nothing has value. Just look at any subsidized housing project for proof.
That welfare mentality is well on its way toward destroying America...

We should help them prepare for the winter. I believe that it is important that we reach out to them.
For less than $10, they could have their very own body bag, disposable, white vinyl, straight zipper, 30in x 90in.

I have to congratulate Glen Beck. He predicted this would all happen months ago, and he was right.

You know whats going to happen. The weather will get cold and the protesters will run for the homeless shelters and force the homeless out into the streets to die. Either that to pay some homeless guy to take their place, so they can go home when it gets cold.

Have the crude plywood huts started popping up yet? I see a shanty town emerging very soon.
With the Christmas Holidays coming, I wonder how many people will just stay away from NYC this year because of these protesters? Maybe a nationwide boycott would put Bloombergs bloomers in a bunch when he realizes the loss of revenue the city would endure because of these so called protestors.
Protest the protestors by not going to NYC this year.. Maybe a write-in campaign is in order?

IMHO, many of the original protesters on Wall Street had valid grievances, the same grievances we all have, among them bailouts of international corporations and finance at the expense of the American middle class, and ~ $1/3 trillion in freebies for illegal aliens annually.
The protesters are young, naive, idealistic, have no real world experience, and have been infiltrated and are being used. They confuse free enterprise with crony capitalism. They have been fed the causes of our current state as solutions.
Here we see the classic marxist ploy; infiltrate those with valid grievances.
We have been betrayed by the political elite of both parties.
The enemy within has been very successful in creating a story for the left about economic, social, and environmental justice and a story for the right about free trade, 'comparative advantage', and 'profits uber alles' with no reference to patriotism or morality. Both stories lead to the same place - destruction of the American economy, security, traditional culture, values and its pesky middle class under the tyranny of global communism.
During unprecedented unemployment/underemployment, the US is DOWN to importing 125,000 new legal workers each MONTH, for a total of 1.5 million per year. Those of us in IT, now compete with offshore workers who can live well on $5 - $10K per year, guest workers who often pay no or partial taxes, and illegal aliens in the form of visa overstay.
One only has to look at what is hidden in the current unemployment stats, and at how the CPI has been manipulated downward (which in turn inflates the GDP) to see how bad things have become.
Here are close approximations of unemployment, CPI, GDP without the 'enhancements':

Shouldnt this person be in school? Actually this could be a smart move for her. She may figure out that a bunch of these clowns spend 50 grand a year to get a degree from a "name" school that they can't possibly use to get a decent job.
So there's a remote chance at education LOL
