Is the NYSE not closed Oct 10 for Columbus Day? It may ‘cease to exist’ for a day, then magically reappear on Tuesday.

Monday, October 10, 2011 is a Federal/Bank holiday in observance of Columbus Day, but it’s a trading day for the U.S. exchanges. However, it will not be a settlement day for some brokerages (for example, Charles Schwab) due to the bank holiday. The Canadian markets are closed on October 10, 2011 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday in Canada.
