The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum on the Mall was closed this afternoon after a “large group of protesters” tried to push past security guards and enter the museum, Smithsonian spokeswoman Linda St. Thomas said.

It was not immediately clear if the protesters were affiliated with the Occupy DC protest that sprung up last week as an offshoot of the larger Occupy Wall Street movement in New York.

Air and Space is the most popular museum in Washington. Right now the Occupants are not inconveniencing anyone. You can walk around Freedom Plaza. They’re trying to get their message to where others must hear them.
I seriously doubt they just wanted to view the exhibits. It’s just a matter of time before one of these creeps tries to torch a federal building or similar. Yeah, just like the Tea Party events.

They probably wanted to move in and camp out inside the Museum. Free bathrooms, out of the weather, etc. Once in, it would be impossible to get them out and they would trash the museum, along with our national treasures.
The damage they would do would be irreplaceable. Most of the displays are of military origin. Those anti-American (Democrat Party) animals would wreck havoc there.
The Guard who pepper sprayed the beast deserves a medal.
