I’m still baffled by the way the program was started, drug gangs were allowed to buy lots and lots of weapons, then the follow-up part of the program was seemingly dropped. It is like our administration WANTED THESE drug gangs to have these weapons. Period.

Looks like
-someone was making lots and lots and LOTS of money off the sale of weapons and/or
-the end game was to arm the Mexican cartels with lots and lots of weapons for future border wars...perhaps?

option 3: these weapons would be found conveniently at crime scenes in mexico and there would be “proof” of the drug gangs arming themselves due to the “lax gun laws” in the US and therefore tougher laws would be needed...
