That’s bad news. And more proof that once the atmosphere in a forum is allowed to sour, it’s a self-perpetuating process.
Herman Cain is known as the Happy Warrior. I like that and think that’s a great way to describe the attitude we should all have.
Besides, if you make a practice of name-calling and vulgar remarks and so on, you end up not learning how to really make your points. Besides civility, that’s another loss.
I don’t think it’s possible to be too cynical where politics is concerned. Politics IS cynicism.
It is absurdly funny though when you think about it. The current Tea Party favorite wants the Federal government to tax tea. Now THAT’S funny. It’s also sad, demented, and pathetic, but it’s funny.
From your lips to God's ear.
Thank you. ;-)
Cain is my favorite. Happy warrior is a great description of him....if I remember correctly someone called Reagan that also....When he got angry it was with a purpose not at another person...
I get your point but don’t you think that if ANY revision to the tax code is locked in by Constitutional Amendment, don’t you think that would make it extremely difficult for future congresses to change it? Right now between payroll deductions for SS/Medicare and federal taxes most working Americans spend way more than 18% so the 9-9-9 would benefit us if I read Cain’s website correctly because everyone spends money - even those on welfare and their money goes to the treasury. I can only see the good of that! But you are right, if left to Congress sleezebags, they would try to raise it years down the road. I say mandate a balanced budget and the revised tax code via Amendment which will make it impossible for them to change it. The new national sales tax under Cain’s plan will not be added to the existing income tax: the new income tax will be a flat 9% saving the almost 7% present payroll tax and the 15% income tax I presently pay. Today I pay 21% and with Cain I pay 9%. If you spend no money you don’t pay the other 9% and even if I did 18% is better than 21%. That 3% is found money for me and I can save it - which I can’t do now.
I think Sarah felt that her best chance was if Christie entered the race and split the RINO vote with Romney. She probably knew all along that Rick Perry doesn't have it and would implode, and likewise Herman Cain.
Once Christie made it official that he was not running, the next day, Sarah threw in the towel.
These are sad words that I now type, but it appears hard to see how we can stop Mitt Romney.
