It would be something, but Cain would be a fool to do it. Her poll negatives are astonishing and the media’s obsession with her would suck all of the oxygen away from his policy initiatives.
As a Presidential candidate she may have been viable because she could have pwnd a few people in debates and spent the next 4-6 months reminding independents how smart she really is. As a VP nominee she will be a sideshow.
Those of us who love Sarah have to get real and deal with the fact that she will not be running and that’s probably best for her and the country right now. We need to pick other conservatives and back them to the hilt.
Well, some Palin admirers (I'm one) knew all along that there was a good chance that Sarah Palin wouldn't run so we were looking over her shoulder at the rest of the pack, hoping to find a conservative substitute. I never warmed up to Perry, even when he had good poll numbers but Herman Cain intrigued me on various levels. However, I kept waiting for Palin's decision. Now, I have it. She's out. Although anything can happen in politics, I seriously doubt this Cain/Palin fantasy will ever happen. Although I chafe at the complaint that Cain lacks 'foreign policy experience', as if front-runner Romney, doesn't, I realize that he'll need a semi-moderate, Washington-savvy vice president. Much like Ronald Reagan had to put old Washington hand (and GOP establishment darling) George H.W. Bush on the ticket in 1980. That being the case, Sarah Palin would not qualify so I don't see it happening. In addition, Palin already ran as a VP and I can't believe she'd do that again. There were lots of reasons for Sarah Palin not to run (family, mostly, along with security concerns) and I don't see her taking on another national campaign to be second banana, again, so I vote: 'no deal' on this one.
