Christie, Palin Out, So This Is Your Team, GOP Voters
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 10/6/2011 | Ed Carson

Sarah Palin announced Wednesday that she will not seek the GOP presidential nomination. A day earlier, Chris Christie re-confirmed he would not throw his hat into the ring.

The message to Republican voters: The current list of candidates is your team, even if you feel the same way as the Milan High student body did about their Jimmy Chitwood-less basketball team in Hoosiers.

“I now want to hear about the trips to call on Governor Palin from Perry and Cain,”

And the trips that are not made. Romney need not apply. I like Cain but I hope he does not sell out for the VP.

Conservatives have watched Bush go soft with the Medicare D, mini-stimulus, TARP and auto bailouts. Then we had the crusty mclame, the guy that voted against the Bush tax cuts, gave us McCain-Feingold and was always looking for a deal with his friends across the aisle. Now we have another rino-man playing the primary process perfectly. Statist healthcare, flip-flops on abortion and global warming does not qualify as conservative policy.

That’s 3 rinos in a row. How many times must we hold our nose and vote for the lesser of two evils? This situation is intoleratble for many conservatives and will increase the attrition rate. Can’t the establishment see that?

Newt is definitely the best debater and knows his policy, but he has no spine. Hopefully Cain doesn’t shoot himself in the foot like the others before him. I would still like to hear more of his foreign policy. Not just support of Israel, but a real philosophy where I could conclude when he would use force.

Cain, Bachman, or Perry: I can live with any of these three. Heck, I will vote for a syphilitic camel over Obama.

Unfortunately VP Cheney’s health excludes him as an option.

Yeah. Well. I have to say I’m underwhelmed by this field. As I’ve been saying for weeks, I look them over, and all I see are glaring weaknesses.

The frustrating part is that Obama should be so weak that this should have been a golden opportunity to find the best candidate to represent our ideas, and now we’re stuck once again with picking the one who’s least bad.

I’m certainly leaning toward Cain for now, but I still do have serious concerns. On the other hand, who’s better right now?

We need to worry about stopping that crazy man, Ron Paul. This guy gets crazier each week and he has a strong following.

No he’s not. I’ve never heard him say that. I’ve heard him not get himself trapped by low life journalists over the issue.

His health? If his health is so bad, why is he the only one with the gumption to get out there with vim and vigor swatting the losers around like the bunch of losers that they are every time you turn around? You’d think he would stay home and be quiet if he were that bad off.

As it is, he’s basically the only one, (ok, sometimes Rummy), with any real courage.

I don’t have any hopes pinned on this happening, but it would be nice to at least see a groudswell of support come up enough to where he would have to give it some consideration.

Draft Dick Cheney.

Obama’s completely toast. His base has deserted him. Anyone we run who does not energize the leftist base will win. That being the case, this is the time to nominate the most conservative candidate in the race. As far as I see it, that’s Cain.

Think about how Obama speaks. He lectures. He scolds. He guilts. Then think about the national mood. IMO, the mood of the country is akin to a person who has been lectured too much, scolded too much and bearing the weight of guilty feelings. We’re snippy, angry, annoyed, biting each others heads off over the littlest of things. This is a direct result of how Obama speaks and acts.

Contrast that with the positive message and joyful attitude pf Herman Cain. This man clearly loves this country, loves his life and is a self made success. He is the kind of person people who people like, even if they WANT to dislike him (See his apppearance this past Tuesday on the View and watch Star Jones / Whoopi Goldberg’s reaction to him for an example)

He’s the right guy for the time. He’s a “polticican” you can vote FOR - as opposed to casting your vote against the other guy.

He is what we neeed to turn the mood in this country around.

Again. If his health is so bad, why is he out there with such vim and vigor every time you turn around? Why doesn’t he just stay home and be quiet?
Answer. Because he sees the danger we are in, and is one of the few with any real courage to name the problems accurately along with experience and knowledge to bring the right approach back to governance.

Draft Dick Cheney.

As much as I don’t like Trump as a person, I do think he is the only person able to lead us out of the mess we are in at this time. Trump has been in a lot of messes in his day and knows how to get out of them and be stronger each time.

Until we say “I REFUSE to hold my nose”, the establishment GOP will keep trying to shove RINOs down our throat. At this point, I really don’t care who the next President is, if given the “choice” between 0bambi or Romney. Either will drive the America over the cliff. The only difference would be the speed.

His answer is absolutely correct.

His personal feelings on the issue, or set of issues are irrelevant, he does not support the federal government getting involved. His answer is consistent with federalism.

On a personal level, he’s had the issue shoved in his face. This is what the left does. He has to be politic.

I bet he wouldn’t have overturned don’t ask don’t tell.
I bet he didn’t even support that garbage when it came up n the 90’s.

I bet he didn’tsupport
