Your aggressive, condescending insults have persuaded me! You have such a way w words—you should write a book about winning friends and influencing enemies. /s Seriously, the more you insult people, the less persuasive you are. Why is this such a difficult concept for some to grasp? It’s really very basic. You catch more flies w honey than w vinegar. I know right now that you’re preparing your next fusillade of insults. Fine, bring them on. They will only weaken your case.

Totally agree. Some of the comments from the pro-Perry camp are really strange.

Actually that is something about the pro-Perry camp that I do not understand. Rather than focus on their preferred candidate's policies and their pertinent strengths (and the weaknesses of the other candidates policies as compared to those of their preferred candidate), what they do is engage in blind vitriol and attacks. It is truly puzzling. The only one who is sticking to issues is Shield, but the rest (such as Cincinatus' Wife and particularly La Enchiladita, all copied as per proper decorum) have been truly 'interesting'). I understand from one FReeper that Cincinatus' Wife even got a warning from J.R. (which is rare enough to be almost an honor)! I do not comprehend what is so difficult in concentrating on YOUR candidate's policies and why they are directly pertinent to the well being of the great nation that is the USA, rather than calling people 'low lifes' like one of them called a FReeper in this very thread. It is absolutely ridiculous, and to be honest not a very wise strategy because it casts their preferred candidate (in this case Perry) in a rather negative light.

Actually, in another thread yesterday I even postulated that Cincinatus' Wife may actually be an anti-Perry candidate based on how she was approaching his advocacy and the reaction FReepers were having to her approach. (I have included that post below). I honestly think Perry advocates should focus on his policies and how they are better than those of other candidates, rather than wondering 'what sort of person' would vote for Cain or that another poster 'sounds like a teenage girl with a crush.' That is highly condescending, tantamount to talking down to a child, and (believe it or not) most FReepers are not children and do not prefer to be treated as such. As an example, just filter La Enchiladita's comments on this one thread and wonder how long a person who just joined FR today would be allowed to make such posts to other FReepers without getting zotted? Their life expectancy would be less than 10 minutes.

This actually reminds me of that fable of the competition between the Sun and the North Wind on who could make a traveller take of his clothes. The North Wind blew hard and cold, and continued to blow harder and colder, but all the man did is pull his coat tighter around him and keep on walking. When the Sun's turn came all it did was smile and smile and smile broader, and eventually it got so warm that he took off his coat. The moral of this kid's tale ...simply that attacks may not work as well as other forms of persuasion. Interestingly, when people are calling others idiots or teenage girls having crushes, all it does is make those 'idiots' and 'blushing teenagers' act more 'idiotic' and 'lovestruck' and support that 'hopeless' candidate (sarcasm intended). In essence, the insulting pro-Perry camp become the strongest anti-Perry advocates as well as being one of the strongest pro-Cain campaigners on FR. Which is so obvious that it makes one wonder whether that is their intention? Seriously - how do you garner support for your candidate by insulting people?

Anyways, here is the post I made yesterday in regards to another pro-Perry supporter (or, if my theory is correct, anti-Perry supporter):

I actually have a working theory that Cincinatus' Wife is actually an anti-Perry campaigner. She has almost single handedly turned a certain section of FR against Perry by a) a deluge of quasi propaganda and b) refusing to respond to simple questions about Perry (and an acerbic riposte that avoids the question is NOT a response). Which makes people wonder a lot about the candidate, and brings negative attention to him. There is a saying from my country of birth that says 'a good thing sells itself because it is obvious to all and sundry that it is good, but a bad thing has to aggressively push itself down peoples' throats because it would not be bought otherwise' (kizuri chajiuza, kibaya chajitembeza). Perry's people have been pushing him a tad too aggressively, at certain times seeming like a weird amalgamation of an old school snakeoil salesman and a mid 60s Soviet propagandist. Huge turn off. And whenever someone asks hard questions one of them on another thread (I am not sure if it was C's Wife) actually brought her gender into the debate (I am a woman). Geez. Highly liberal tactics.

On this thread C's Wife said Perry is better than Palin. I am surprised no one has yet asked for her to explain why that is the case.

Anyways, putting it all togetherId surmise that C's Wife is actually, incognito, an anti-Perry advocate. Trying to build up tacit revulsion against Perry through her tactics. Like driving a Ford Explorer fitted with Firestone tires down a ravine in 1999-2000 to show how 'safe' things are. Negative attention. If I was heading Perry's campaign I would send a polite message asking for the 'assistance' to stop. Some 'assistance' can be a hindrance, and it is not for nothing that a good number of FReepers consider Perry as much a RINO (albeit with a slightly smaller horn) as Romney

Interesting theory that some are actually anti Perry and posting non stop to turn folks off of Perry.

Ya know, a certain Duncan Hunter uber fan had the same effect on people with all his rabid Hunter posts. People began to make fun of Hunter when, in actuality, they really liked his ideals before all crazy posts.

What an interesting point you make, regarding Cincinnatus’ Wife’s intentions...or at least the resultant position people have on her product, Perry.

Lately, it seems I’m checking to see who posted a Perry thread before reading or posting to it, and passing up the majority. Too many, this round, have an agenda and their little posse follows them with hateful posts to anyone not in lock step. Such vicious hate makes for an hmmm moment.
