I honestly think she didn’t run because she understood from the polling that she COULD conceivably get the nomination, but then could be the only way the Republicans could blow this election against Obama.
In which case it was quite a noble and wise decision. It takes a lot to fully admit to oneseelf that you’re so fundamentally disliked by such a large portion of the electorate needed to win, and that they are beyond being persuaded otherwise.
That’s a possibility. The woman is anything but stupid. And I think she sees more clearly than many who support or supported her. Whatever, I really am happy for her and her family that they won’t have the weight of the decision, much less campaigning, hanging around their necks any more.
As Christie said, it’s very flattering to have so many people wanting you to do something so big as running for POTUS. But you ultimately have to do what’s best for you and your family. I’m sure a good part of SP would love to be in the mix this year, but she made the wiser, politically selfless decision not to go forward.
