I really think a lot of it goes back to the whole human need to be liked and accepted. People see the media barrage of “Mitt is in the lead” and don’t want to be on the ‘outside’. It’s the whole high school clique thing. Most want to sit with the cool kids at lunch and hang around the ‘popular’ people.
The media feeds that, in fact, thrives on it. I mean this is a country that now hangs on the word of Kim Kardashian. it doesn’t take much to influence them.
Then there’s the fear factor. Four more of Obama!!! MY GOD NO ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!
And critical thought, if they ever had any, goes flying out the window - and along with it, conservative thoughts, principles and values. And all it takes is a promise from the very people backing the enemy to get most ‘conservatives to do just that.
“Hey, this MIT has the answers and he’s not an ‘extremist’ like those fanatics in the TEA Party...you don’t wanna be seen with THOSE PEOPLE do you? Mitt’s the cool guy, rich and has good hair. He’s the safe choice...come on...all your friends like him!!”
That’s the BS they push. The words they use are not too different but the reasons are the same. And people buy it. They know they will never fit in/be accepted by/with the Dems, do they ‘settle’ for the next ‘cool’ clique they are told to.
OK, I'm open to hearing your plan. Lets say (God forbid) MR wins the nomination, and all our primary choices lose & go home.
Its the first Tuesday of November. Tell me how you propose advance conservative values from that point.
Either Obama wins, or MR wins.
That is reality. End of story. No amount af crying, fist shaking and pleading will change it.
If Obama wins we're 100% certain of the results - bad sh*t.
If MR wins we're 95% certain of what will result - more bad sh*t.
The real question is do you think the 5% chance something positive might result from a MR administration is worth your vote?
If not, stay home or write in a protest vote. I won't judge you - I've been sorely tempted to do the same. But don't judge me if I take the 5%.
So very true.
