I never bought the grand strategy/unconventional campaign nonsense. She kept her options open, I think, precisely because so long as she was a "candidate" or potential candidate, she could generate news and get coverage of her (important) comments against Obama. But now such coverage will necessarily diminish. I don't care what she said on Greta and don't dwell on it.

All along it was about things you can touch and see: was there a real organization? No. Were there campaign HQ in every important primary state/swing state? No. Was "conservatives4Palin" a legitimate site? Well, when you go to half the states on the little map and click on them "Not response" comes up, so I never thought that was legitimate evidence of an organization.

I think if her polling early on had suggested a softening of the negativity surrounding her by women and indies, she absolutely would have set up an organization and run. But it didn't.

That sounds very reasonable above. There were a few other things that tipped me off that she absolutely would not run. The biggest was her paid FNC job going on Greta giving opinions of the candidates. To me there was close to zero % chance she would run

Man did I get cursed at and called names for trying to tell others she would not run in comments, and I was one of the very first to say it. Most of my so called PDS friends didnt believe me until the last month or so, although saying it was labelled a sign of PDS. If you said she wouldnt run, you were just trying to get others to abandon her campaign.
