I agree, but it is for the Palin fanatics. Seriously, read C4P sometime. The place is like some sort of twisted house of Sarah worship. She can literally do no wrong with most of these people, and anyone questioning anything about her or her supposed genius (and as yet to be seen) campaign strategy is met with intense hostility and rage. It'll remind you that, sadly, people of all ideologies are capable of sliding into the cult of personality trap. You'd hope more from conservatives, but nope, human nature is what it is and even folks on our side are susceptible to it.
Is THIS what you mean?

I think it would be conceptually correct for us to say that folks who slide into a personality cult are not really conservatives. They may line up right on many/most of the “conservative” policy issue points of the day. But that doesn’t make one a conservative.
A conservative is fundamentally opposed to ideology, and fundamentally opposed to “let’s pretend”. So anything that gives answers before questions are asked...that is usually something that is bordering on ideology, and true conservatives have nothing to do with ideology.
(Of course all that said, that means that there aren’t a LOT of true conservatives out there in the world...and alas that would be true. But America’s Founders certainly were....and they were definitely on the lookout for cults of personality...)
Here’s the trick. SP isn’t ever going to say that she isn’t running because if she were to do so, she would be just as relevant as Dana Perino, or any other paid talking head at Fox.
As these deadlines pass, SP will start making cryptic remarks that don’t necessarily rule out a 3rd party/write-in run in attempt to leverage a speaking at the RNC. If she doesn’t get a primetime slot, expect her phantom candidacy to continue right to the end.
Yeah and how about them Reagan cultist. They still worship him to this day. Jeez!
