Well, after the "Borking" of Rick Perry, look who is taking a month off to sell books and look whose communications director is leaving for another job.
Herman Cain endorsed Mitt Romney two days before Super Tuesday, 2008.
HERMAN CAIN'S ENDORSEMENT OF MITT ROMNEY PUBLISHED IN THE ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION PRIOR TO SUPER TUESDAY, 2008
Herman Cain has said that he would not support Rick Perry even in the general election ....... even against Obama. However, he would have no problem supporting Mitt Romney.
Herman Cain said Wednesday that he would be unable to support Rick Perry for president if the Texas governor were to eventually win the party's nomination. .... The former businessman said, for instance, that he could support former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney....
Now, after Cain has hit Perry with everything including the latest racial flap, Cain is taking a month off to sell books and leaving Mitt Romney as the King of the Hill.
Mitt Romney now leads the GOP polls. Was Cain ever a serious candidate or was he simply a Stalking Horse?
Whatever the answer is, it seems that the winner is Mitt Romney. I'm not sure that Perry can recover from the gang-mugging he has undergone.

What a ridiculous article and assumption. The book he is promoting is a campaign book — this will be “part” of the campaign. And the staffers who left? They were not ready for a prime time campaign, and bolted due to the fact that a real player was brought in over them. They had threatened to do this at least one time before.
Totally ridiculous article.

Well, you know who can make her move now, don’t you?

“Was Cain ever a serious candidate or was he simply a Stalking Horse?”
Cain is the Huckabee of 2012.
This scheme will fail for two reasons:
1. Romney WILL NOT be the GOP nominee
and
2. Perry has time to recover. Not much time, but some.

Oh, crap.
Romney the front-runner...just as the MSM was hoping and praying.
Romney the nominee? Say hello to 4 more years of Barry the Boob.
Only one hope now....

LIES! This blog post is merely saying that because Cain isn’t campaigning in a particular way, and his entry-level communications director was replaced by an old pro, that he’s ceasing his campaign.

The liberals will do anything to make sure Romney gets the nomination. Using Cain as a stalking horse ... good probability. The rock think is only worthy of Dan Rather and his ilk. I would now throw Cain in with Romney, Huntsman, Gingrich, Paul and Christie as Liberal choices because all of them would loose to Obama.

Herman Cain endorsed Mitt Romney two days before Super Tuesday, 2008.So did a lot of us when faced with a McQueeg candidacy. At that point, there was no other option.

Perry can recover if we get behind him. I fell for Cain too but started backing away when he pulled that stunt about the “rock”.
With Perry we won’t have to worry about someone taking our guns. We’d get conservative Supremes. We’d have a pro-life candidate. And he’s all in for state’s rights.
For all of those reasons, the left is determined we can’t have him. I pray we don’t get another McCain because we let these clowns own the narrative.

Probably just a lack of funds. Perhaps he’s hoping contributions will pour in from his Florida straw poll win?

Herman Cain has said that he would not support Rick Perry even in the general election ....... even against Obama.
The article you link doesn't have Cain saying that. The quote is:
"Today, I could not support Rick Perry as the nominee for a host of reasons,"
Seems pretty clear that he was saying he could not support Perry "today" based on his current positions, and was waiting for Perry to either clarify or change those positions - including tuition breaks for the children of illegal aliens.

"No, Cain isn't running. He is not a threat to Perry. Never!"

Yeah. He’s really taking time off.
All this crap came from one stupid blogger’s projection. Now people are running with that rumor.
