Except that at later court proceedings, the DNA analysis that seemed to show Kercher's blood was found to be scientifically unsound, and forensic evidence showed that the knife was far too large to have caused any of Kercher's wounds.

So the defence claimed "If the knife don't fit, you must acquit"

What I was stating was the reason that the prosecution considered Sollecito's knife significant.
