I’m a 6th generation Texas, have lived here my entire life, and never heard those flowers called that. We called them Black eyed Susans.
That’s good to hear. I’ve never heard of that flower being called anything but BES’s - although almost all flowers have alternative names. I have them growing in my garden.
Those flowers are fairly thick here in central Texas and I have heard them called Niggerheads,Black Eyed Susans and just Sunflowers, although I don’t know if they are even related to Sunflowers
