Cain is counting on 1/3 of the black vote (his projection) if he’s the GOP nominee. His criticism of “Niggerhead” was to validate himself for that projected vote.

I think he could have waited till he saw it was becoming an issue with Perry. It’s not a valid issue for present day Perry because that was from his Rat days. Anyhow any apology should be for not more clearly discerning the situation which was historical, and not related to present Perry attitudes. This makes him look better than the now-zotted Tempest, who would take any quasi-plausible opportunity to rag on Perry. Integrity, and acknowledgment of where he agrees with his rivals, is crucial to making Cain acceptable to a wide range of people.

I've heard him say that. BFD! No way Obama gets less than 90% of the black vote next year. Imo, Cain wasn't going anywhere before his use of the race card and he isn't going anywhere after using it.

Cain can forget the 1/3 black vote. He won’t get it. Conservatives don’t get the black vote.

Now, he’s messin’ with the white vote. he may not get it either.
