The name of the camp — "Niggerhead" — was first reported by the Washington Post on Saturday. The paper said the name was painted on a rock at the entrance of the property. Perry reportedly began hosting fellow lawmakers, friends and supporters at the secluded ranch early in his career. The offensive phrase has been painted over, but the Post's sources and the Perry campaign differ on when that was done. The Post reports that the name can still be seen through the paint. "My reaction is, that's just very insensitive," Cain told Fox. "[There] isn't a more vile, negative word than the N-word, and for him to leave it there as long as he did, before I hear that they finally painted over it, is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country."

I live in a town that had a sign at the city limits that declared they had the “blackest land and the whitest people”

The sign came down 20 years before I moved to the town.
I have never even seen it.

I have to confess Perry’s still not my first choice, but I’ll certainly stick up for anyone on our side, when they’re getting slimed.

As it stands today (which is different that it stood yesterday for me) if Palin does not declare, I’ll have to seriously consider Perry.

Actually, we all here liked and admired Cain whether you are a Perry fan or Palin fan. Personally, I didnt think he had much of a chance but I rooted for him to do well in the debates and he was so enjoyable to watch.

I’m hoping he will walk back his remarks. If not, I will now root against him just like I root against Obama, Romney and Ron Paul.

The idea I’m getting about Perry is pretty stupid.

Are you black? If not, then you can't know what it was like to have grown up in a different America than the one we know today. I'm not black, but I remember well how black people were treated in the fifties. Only someone who has walked in those shoes can really know how it felt to be treated as an inferior for no reason other than his skin color. So I will cut Cain some slack for his prickliness about this word.

Having said that, I hope he will let it go now. He needs to treat his blackness as the non-issue it is.
