It is another great American Revolution and for that we can thank Obie who seduced the liberal dems to show all their cards. Damn scary!
The White House w/Obie in charge is a slush fund, and Obama is nothing more than a professional money launderer. There can be no doubt.
Hey rodguy911. You were in my neck of the woods. Beautiful this time of year. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Come back anytime.
Kristol is looking for someone he can work for. This is the same type of deal he pulled back in 2000.
First he went on and on for months about how Colin Powell was the ONLY candidate who could defeat Gore. Then when Powell finally convinced Kristol he wasn’t going to run, Kristol switched to backing McCain.
And when McCain didn’t win in the primaries, Kristol THEN went on a tirade about what a terrible candidate Bush was, how he was lazy, wouldn’t get elected because he mangled words, etc.
I believe this animosity comes from Bush 41’s complete distrust of Kristol as a leaker when Kristol was Quayle’s chief of staff. It got so bad that James Baker barred him from campaign strategy meetings. (Kristol’s “good ideas” included convincing Quayle to oppose Bush 41 on some policy issue and make a big stink, right in the middle of the campaign.)
So Bush got elected, and Quayle spent about 3 months praising him, until it became apparent that Bush 43 wasn’t going to give him a job. He then resumed sniping at the White House and meeting with McCain’s for lunch, hatching plans for McCain to spike Bush’s wheels on various policy matters.
I also believe Kristol instigated the “Jefford’s Jump.”
So, Christie will be pushed and pushed by Kristol until he finally makes it plain he won’t run. Then Kristol will latch onto someone else, except it won’t be Palin, who wouldn’t hire him either. And if Palin or Cain get the nomination, Kristol will snipe from the sidelines fro the next 4 years.
Face the Nation’s guests were two governors, Haley Barbour and Martin O’Malley, so I tuned in (after McCain) to see why they had been invited. Barbour, in Mississippi, and O’Malley, in MD, were on to discuss Chris Christie. Weird!
Shieffer: Is Christie going to divide the Republican party (after listing all of his pro-lib positions)?
Barbour: Barack Obama is the greatest uniter of the Republican party and increasingly more independents than we have ever had.
Shieffer: Is he too fat?
Barbour: Bob, you have to address that to Gov O’Malley.
MO’M: Christie is good for entertainment value, especially if you like Don Rickles. Then he went on to list every criticism of Christie that has ever crossed the mind of a NJ union person, and said that he was not ‘effectively governing’.
Shieffer said that O’Malley had evaded his question and O’Malley replied, “not evaded, redirected.”
Barbour said that the long prepared ‘redirection’ of the question shows how afraid the Dems are of Christie.
I wish Barbour was back on the national platform as a spokesman for the GOP. He is great.
I think we have learned from GW who failed to fight back when the left attacked him relentlessly usually lying about what he did or said.
I have heard this reference to Bush 43 from others when I’ve cited my “Just Say Yes” position on the racism accusation.
I don’t acsept it as relevant because Bush often said nothing — like, they’d call him “Hitler” and he’d say nothing.
My position is that he should have said, “OK. I’m Hitler. Now what?”
Your argument of how hard it would be to raise the 9-9-9 plan makes great sense until you factor in the liberal mindset. They would have all those earning less than 50k,then 75k then 100k exempt form some of the 9’s and the poor(their political assets) exempt all together.

Since a new Congress is never forced to adhere to the legislation passed by previous ones, your rational says we should NEVER bother to pass anything about anything at anytime. What’s the point since the next Congress will amend it or toss it.
Following your logic the only time to pass smaller gov’t legislation is when we can guarantee for life a Conservative president and control of at least 1 of the other chambers.
As Cain was/is a supporter of his friend’s, Boortz, Fair Tax campaign for a long time, maybe this conversation is more about his having an actual plan to debate? As the debate begins, it opens the floor for other plans that would have wider acceptance. Sadly, none of the other candidates have a plan to be debated other than they have a “plan”.
The first move is to get the population to recognize we have to seriously reform/scratch the current code before an honest public debate can begin to affect Congress.
I don’t know that Rita Cosby was a “vaunted journalist.”
I distinctly remember her and another dim bulb, Paula Zahn, both announcing that Gore had won the Supreme Court decision in the Florida recount case. This was while they were still on Fox. They were both breathless and giddy that Gore had won.
Turned out they were reading the dissent instead of the decision. Brit Hume had to send Steve Centanni down to their location to explain it to them.
Rita and Paula darn near caused me to have a heart attack. My only joy was seeing Rita and Paula’s grins turn into sad, frowny faces. HA!
Rita is brainwashed, but it happened a long, long time ago.
Yes, CC is liberal in so many important areas. But for me, the biggest deal breaker is his fondness (or at best, blind ignorance) regarding Islamists and the dangers of Sharia. (He appointed a Muslim judge and favors the Ground Zero Mosque). This morning, C. Amanpour tried to play gotcha with Herman Cain, quoting CC saying that the fears Cain and other conservatives have voiced about Sharia Law creeping into our country is “just crazy”. Herman stayed calm and said, “well, then, call me crazy”. He handled her well in general, but I keep hoping he’ll get a more in-depth education from the likes of Gabriel, Spencer, Steyn, Horowitz, Geller, Emerson, Babbin, Bolton or any combination thereof so that he can confidently expound on why Islam and Sharia are such dangerous and imminent threats inside this country.
BTW, Herman’s been cancer-free for five years now and beat incredible odds, even according to his doctors :-)
“OK I’m Hitler, now what?”

I understand your point, but a better answer on the criticism Bush got would have been to answer back specifically and with outrage about the charge of lying.
And let’s not forget that the “architect” of this “don’t answer your critics” plan was KARL ROVE.
Shieffer said that OMalley had evaded his question and OMalley replied, not evaded, redirected.
To this end, Governor O’Sancutary has been issuing drivers licenses (and voter cards) to about 1,800 criminal invaders PER MONTH over the last 2 years+.
I can’t even begin to describe how infested we are with enemy infiltrators here with backgrounds in MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels, al Qaeda, Hamas, the Sandinistas, and so forth. Not to mention Hezbollah and FARC.
—And of course your run of the mill sheep among the wolves who bring in massive social welfare requirements, impending anchor babies, bed bugs, TB, AIDS, unsanitary living pracitices, press 2 for Spanish, press 3 to detonate your suicide vest, etc.
O’Sancutary’s recent great achievement was leading the legislature in passing the in-state tuition scam, the Dream Act, which some of the colleges here have been illegally engaging in anyway. That new “law” resulted in more than 125,000 of us signing a petition that will put this death knell program up for referendum in Nov 2012. This referendum is gonna drive a LOT of people to the polls here so (with apologies to Recovering Hippe and others) we do NOT want Rick Perry’s name anywhere near our ballot—but that’s grist for another mill.
At any rate, O’Panderer will be seeking either the Babs Mulkulski Memorial Seat in the Senate or the 2016 nomination for Prez or Veep, you betcha. ‘Cause mommy said so.
Anyway you cut it its getting interesting!
Exactly, finally someone who can’t be bought!
I’m sure we will, thanks!
Good analysis of McKristol. He’s just another rino who pretends he’s conservative when he’s not writing for the NYT.
