I don’t personally agree with the repeal of DADT because I think it affect good order and discipline; however, absent any studies or polls, how can we conclude “...the vast majority of STRAIGHT Mil folks.” hate the newest policy of allowing gays to serve?

Well , unlike a lot of CIVs , I have personally talked to a lot of them in person about this subject .
I don’t know who ‘we’ is ....
When the highest Brass and political correct and career motivated Generals and Admirals say ‘ we’ they mean ‘ them’ ; they have concluded to carry forth the stated and desired polices and goals of the present Administration . When some young Marines or Soldiers say ‘ we ‘ they mean WE ....the war fighters that are affected , the ones that have to live with what the clueless politicos and brass deliver down as edicts . And THEY don’t like it .
You might get different versions , from folks with non combat MOS’s , but the folks out there in front , they KNOW what they want and what they don’t want and please take it from me they DID NOT WANT a repeal of DADT. They consider it a pain-in-the-ass [ no pun intended ]
