The PUGET SOUND CONSERVATIVE UNDERGROUND Message Board Warning: Black Hole for Romney Forming
Let me preface this by stating my belief that Mitt Romney is, in all probability, a nice intelligent good-hearted man, notwithstanding his handsome looks and beautiful family who appear to have come straight from central casting.
That stipulated, after tens of $millions spent and years of practice trying to sound Conservative, why cant he completely shake the aura of a car salesman? Or, is it just me?
He tries to sell you that hes a bonafide Conservative, and that he has been all along, but when he ran for Governor of Massachusetts, he certainly ran away from Reagans recent legacy. (And I trust, I dont need to review the litany of Mitts ideological acrobatics which rival the dolphin show at SeaWorld.)
Now that his handlers have coached him to sound sufficiently conservative in television debates, are we to forget all about RomneyCare which he led through one the most liberal legislatures in all of America and still will not denounce it?
At the same time, he attempts to discredit Gov. Rick Perry whose governance of Texas over the last decade has by all empirical evidence been a great conservative success story. Who then is buying this absurd narrative that Romney is somehow the real conservative governor?
The truth is, Willard Mitt Romney is a blue blood, a silver spooner who went to Harvard and was raised with his father grooming him for success in elite circles. Similar to George Bush, and I submit, hence his politics, come from what we used to refer to as the Rockefeller Wing of the Republican Party which, I submit, stands in stark contrast to the Reagan Wing.
I do not disparage his success, or his wealth, but one must ask the questions of how a Romney presidency will relate to the common citizen (aka The Forgotten Man)? As with Bush, when the political pressures mount, will he side with Main Street, or Wall Street? This isnt too difficult to call when he has lived and worked in the highest of elite circles his entire life.
In light of our terribly broken government and economy, will Romney be able to relate to the plight of the common man, or will he be prone to more cronyism, and take care of those with whom he has immersed himself all his life? Please think carefully about this factor how did we get to the edge of the current abyss, and what kind of POTUS will actually rescue us from the precipice?
The Republican establishment, moneyed Northeasterners, and the dominant Media (aka the elite Tri-fecta) want desperately to shape the race for the Republican nominee make no mistake, they want to herd us into nominating their preferred candidate.
For months on end these elite forces have declared that Mitt Romney is the frontrunner and incessantly tell us he is the most electable so that the inevitable momentum will quickly reach an irreversible event horizon, like a black hole inexorably sucking in all surrounding political support toward one man; by design, it will inevitably end in presenting the only safe choice, that is Romney.
If electability, i.e. maximizing the nominees electoral chances, were a candidates most important attribute, why wouldnt we nominate say Zell Miller, or Arlen Specter, or Joe Lieberman? Think about it, against Obama in a general election they would absolutely clean house electorally perhaps gaining the largest popular vote of all time save for Obamas hardest of hardcore constituents.
Incidentally, besides Ron Paul, Romney is the only holdover from the 2008 presidential race and who LOST to John McCain! By shear media repetition of Romneys name over several years since then, combined with the fact that they yearn to push a very squishy-con leftist Republican candidate upon us, is it any wonder that by name recognition, Romneys name consistently appears at, or near, the top of the polls (yet, of course, the names of his rivals remain largely unknown to the masses)? Then, they try to parlay this poll-leader into the phony narrative that Romney has somehow achieved this most electable status via some grass-roots craving for a professed Conservative core he somehow now possesses.
But this pattern of the elite tri-fecta luring the electorate into swallowing their squishy right-wing candidate has been seen many times before It might be called the Gold Watch nomination syndrome. It is essentially how we ended up with the disastrous candidates of Dole, Bush, and then McCain. It was their time for the nomination said the R powers that be. Because of their political pedigrees, they deserved the nomination for their service to the Party powerful. The R Party did what it took to award them with the Gold Watch.
But how well do the Gold Watch club members actually serve the electorate, you and me you know, We The People?
Asked another way, So, how well has elite-run Government been working for you??
Ive read Mitt Romneys 59-point plan and, while it touches on many good, existing ideas for reform, it strikes me as terrifically tepid given the huge perils American civilization now faces. Ronald Reagan warned us against raising a banner of pale pastels, but rather charging forth under a Conservative agenda of bold colors of daring solutions that work!
I ask, how likely is it that decepti-con Mitt Romney champions and delivers on truly bold solutions to reform our broken systems, to eradicate political corruption and cronyism, to police and in some cases prosecute his elite associates in the aristocratic tri-fecta to restore our freedoms and prosperity to Main Street? How naively and disastrously we hoped that Bush would finally deliver, until we discovered what his ivy-league compassionate conservatism really meant.
I will say again that, undoubtedly, Mr. Romney is a well-meaning human being. But, in these pivotal, absolutely crucial times for America, can we afford to just settle again for the man whom we are incessantly directed is the most electable? WHY must I settle again for an almost certain, but safe conservative lemon?
If we have learned anything over the past two decades, it is that NOW is the time to go bold and nominate a true Conservative Republican nominee who has the courage and knowhow to not only obliterate every vestige of Obamunism, but one who will also lead us back up the path, to restore Reagans vision of our Shining City Upon A Hill where the suns rays reflecting from it, warming the countryside, marked not a prelude to sunset, but heralded a perpetual dawn of American civilization.
IN CONNECTICUT!!!!!
I don’t trust Romney. I am still not convinced of his conservative conversion and there is no way you can seperate him from robamney/care. But besides all that the guy just WANTS to be president too much! It’s unseemly. He’s done nothing since about 2006 but plan for a campaign and campaighn for the Oval Office. He drools for it!
amen !
down with Romney! throw him and Huntsman out of the party!
They can run against Obama in the primary where they belong!
CT is definitely Romney country.
Mormonism is close kin to Islam! So many similarities if you study both faiths it is difficult to separate the two, except for the degree of violence and overt hatred. Both favor polygamy (I believe Romney’s grandfather was a polygamist) thus his tolerance for opening the door to re institute it with same sex marriage. They both want as many children as possible because it “gives them power” in the afterlife. Romney is a “32nd” degree Mormon, a Temple Mormon. A big man in the cult! Joseph Smith pronounced himself the new Mohammad! Not to mention that Romney’s record is not conservative.
Wrong. Romney would make GWB look like a conservative!
Yeah, well I'd rather have a Mormon sitting next to me on a plane than an imam.
Obama the master of class warfare would portray himself as the defender of the working class running against Romney the ruthless, greedy, and very rich Wall Street Banker who destroyed many jobs when he was CEO Bain capital whose business is to sell and buy companies and in the process many people working for these companies lost their jobs. They will parade one person after another who lost his or her job because of Romney Bain Capital and you see them in political ads and interviewed on TV.
They will go after Romney wealth and portray as a very rich man who is totally detached from the suffering of the ordinary citizens and does not feel their pain.
They may even create fake conservative groups to expose Romney liberal positions on a lot of issues to further demoralize a base that is not excited with Romney to start with.
Romney - at best, Obamalite. Remember, Romneycare predates Obamacare.
Romney - at best, Obamalite. Remember, Romneycare predates Obamacare.
That’s gonna hurt.
Ignoring Robamney’s negatives, and there are A LOT, I wouldn’t vote for him just because he looks like a second rate actor playing someone running for President on a low rated tv show. Oh,that and he should be a Democrat!
Obamer is a pure idiot.
But that man on that poster is the poster child for a shyster.
One thing I never did while I was in business is to do business with a mormon or a amish person. They will screw you and all the while they will smile doing it.
I really don’t see a problem with Romney within this post. Running for governor in Massachusetts requires running to the left of center, so what? He did what he could with RomneyCare the worst example of left thinking - but that’s what the people of that state wanted.
Besides, even Reagan wasn’t perfect, for example buying into citizenship for illegals without providing for closing the borders what a really bad thing. On the other hand he did some really good things and so can Romney.
If Romney was to portray himself as a lefty when he ran for governor, what makes you think he’s not portraying himself as a conservative in order to win the POTUS nomination?
The people of Mass. know more about Romney than we do, AND YET, these lefties elected him to the highest office in the state. So I repeat as I have in other articles, what do the people of Mass. know about Romney that we don’t where they were comfortable to elect him as governor?
If Romney were to unfortunately become the Republican candidate, would the percentage of Democrats lured into voting for him be sufficient to offset the conservatives who would refuse to vote, i.e., would the margin be enough to ensure a Republican victory over the Great Impostor?
Perhaps he was simply the best candidate?
It’s really doubtful that Romney is a lefty at all.
