I refer you to
post #11 in response to your statement that Rubio's parents were not US Citizens at the time of their birth, and
"is ineligible." Please notice the part that says
Now, consider Marco Rubio. His parents were resident aliens when he was born in 1971, seeking and soon to receive their status as naturalized U.S. citizens.
Under the Fourteenth Amendment, "all persons born...in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the states wherein they reside."
This "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" clause shows why Rubio is -- and, very likely, why children of illegal aliens are not
-- a "natural born citizen of the United States."

Thanks for this post. I’m enjoying your replies as much as the original post. Lately, I’ve been thinking that, if Rubio were to run, it might bring the whole citizenship question really out in the open and settle the matter once and for all. What do you think? I’ll have to bookmark this as I’m off to work but look forward to more of this later.
