What exactly can he be sued for? Being a massive douchebag?
Is it now illegal to heckle people? I mean, the guy is a conmplete toolbox and seems a bit unstable, but I’m wondering why he could get sued, and by whom?

Assault . Here in Ca. it can be used as assault against a woman . How ironic. He did not heckle her , look at the film , in this town that is considered a personal attack. Nice try .

I don’t know but he hired a lawyer and is all of a sudden apoligizing. One can be sued for anything, doesn’t mean the plantiff will win but a lot of times just the threat will accomplish the intended results. In this case the Palins get a lot of publicity and sympathy for a few thousand dollars( a bargain for any politician) All the swish gets is an attorney fee.

From the sound of the letter it seems that he is afraid of losing his JOB. He wanted to let everyone know that he was only stating his own views, NOT those o his CLIENTS or the PLACE THAT HE WORKS>
By the way, Where does he work? Some of the firms clients may want to know the intelligence and character of the people they hire to MANAGE their careers.
