Even during the Bush years he was for a mass registration program, temporary needs-based 2yr worker visas, deportation and ban of the criminals. No citizenship. No amnesty.

For comparison, Palin told O'Reilly in 2010 her solution was also registration and work visas.

Romney was actually asked about the illegals here at a NH townhall in August. He punted and talked about securing the border.

Newt was asked in a debate and he suggested a registration system, modeled after the World War draft boards where locals would decide who would get a visa based on local need.

I've not heard Bachmann or the others offer an answer for those here now.

I'd have thought that would be far more important than debating how to lock down the border.

The problem with guest worker programs is they never leave, the laws are barely enforced and then the misreading of the 14th Amendment keeps them here anyway with their kids. Most of us rightly saw that Bush and Kennedy were pushing mass amnesty despite what it was being called.

Romney won't do anything either. I actually believe when it comes to securing the border it's going to take one of those women governors, they just appear to have more stones and are less swayed by the cheap labor lobbying.

Amnesty is the removal of the penalty for a crime. The penalty for being an illegal alien is deportation.

Both Bush II and Palin are for amnesty for the ~ 40 million illegal aliens in the US because it's 'humane' and 'compassionate'. Humane and compassionate for whom? Certainly not the citizens of the US! Certainly not for those whose jobs are taken nor for those whose salaries are suppressed nor for those whose taxes are raised as a consequence of flooding the country will illegals and 'guest workers'.
