By the Way Polybius, you forgot to mention that that’s the FEDERAL taxes alone (Unless you added the State income tax into your calculation).

No, that was only the Federal income taxes. I was one of the evil high earners.

Fine. I retired last August in my mid 50's, I am still living frugally with lots of savings and Obama will not get one more dollar of income taxes out of me.

I'm much happier now. :-)

I’ll do my best to make good on that, too. My dad was in the same lot a few years back, and has retired now, too. Some years we paid close to 50% between state and federal, on top of everything else. If he had earned less, he’d have actually had more, I’m sure you know the feeling.
