Sarah Palin likes Herman Cain.

"He's not a politician. I think that's why I like him so much!"
Conservatives are concerned with principles. Operatives care about winning and losing, that's it.
I will say from the perspective of a christian
words like “fag” and “queer” chase the spiritually lost away from Jesus Christ and HIS plan for their life.
When conservatives espouse conservative principles, they win. When they act and talk like Dems or Dem-lites, they lose. Funny you operatives don’t see that. If you care so much about winning, you ought to know that by now.
Homosexuals call themselves and each that, and worse.
Telling them the truth - and they are not born that way is a big part of it - is the best kindness they can be shown. Telling them they are fine as they are is neither truthful nor kind.
The subtlety of "gay" got us into this. Homosexuality is a perversion. They are homosexuals and not "gay". They are deviants. Words mean things. Language is important. That is why they demand to be called "gay". It is not the correct term. It is a coverup.
You should hear what they call each other. They are violent and emotionally unstable. "Gay" doesn't convey that. But sexual pervert does.
“what is wrong with 9-9-9?”
Back in the days when we had our fiscal house in order, my complaint would have been that having both a national sales tax and an income tax, even at low rates, opens the door to much higher taxation rates than we have now, as future Congresses (and the Supreme Court) start to pass increases (or mandates them, and NEVER put anything past a liberal Supreme Court).
However, today, we probably do need both taxes, but at much higher levels - otherwise the dollar WILL crash, once China, Japan, and other countries get sick of our debt level...so I don’t have as much problem with it.
Overall...I’m neutral, and if Cain’s tax play has the hypothetical possibility of higher taxes down the road, and that’s his ONLY issue, then he’s far, far, ahead of the rest of the field.
I LOVE THE GUY!!!
“Sarah Palin would NEVER take second place again.”
I tend to agree with you...but how about Energy Secretary. In that position, she only needs to be confirmed by the Senate. And they have a problem with that, Cain can follow Obama’s lead and make her “Energy Independence Czar” or something. There are options less humiliating for her (and I mean that in the same sense that you look at it, being second-fiddle twice in a row is humiliating for anyone).
True, it doesn’t have to be a snipe war. But many here consider it attacking a candidate when we are simply examining a candidate’s record and their current plans for the nation. That is not sniping but serious vetting and debate.
ie Examining Herman Cain’s 999 Plan. I was thrilled that he won the Florida poll and until then I have not taken him seriously as a candidate. I’m now vetting him and I do not like his 999 Plan from what I’m seeing. For some, that would constitute “sniping.”
“Well, I think Herman needs to explain position of more than few things. His grasp on foreign policy seems week, but then again, if he is a true isolationist conservative, it doesnt really matter, I suppose.”
A true isolationist does NOT understand Islam as well as Cain. No one who understand Islam thinks that we can get away with putting our heads in the sand and hoping that it goes away.
Look at others that are REAL isolationists, like Ron Paul. He has no problem with Islam, and threat it poses (or, if he does, he certainly doesn’t talk about it). But Paul seems to have a big problem with the threat imposed by the US government in fighting Islam...that is an isolationist.
“Its true we need to find out more about why he supported Romney in 2008, but lets keep in mind that a lot of us did after Fred Thompson tanked so early and it was down to Romney, Mclame and Huckster. I cant stand Romney, hes a phony RINO chameleon, but even I preferred him over the other 2 back in 08. I believe Rush and several other conservative talk show hosts were also backing Romney, so Cain may have been in that mix. On its face, I dont really think backing Romney in 2008 is any indication of Cain being a RINO himself. Well just have to take a closer look at his positions and see what we find. So far, I like what Ive seen.”
I’m with you, between the three of them, Romney was best. Rush did want him, but never really endorsed him (as I remember it)...you could tell just by what he was saying. Cain’s options were to stay neutral, or pick (what I, you, and he considered) the best of a terrible trio. Seeing Cain now shows just how much better the Republican field is for 2012.
“People voted for an untested and inexperienced candidate in 2008, and the country is sinking due to that inexperience. It is extremely unlikely they are going to vote for another inexperienced, novice politician to lead the biggest country in the world.”
Stop beating up on Sarah. Yea, she only had two years or so of chief executive experience, compared to the decades of chief executive experience that Cain has, but Sarah is FAR from unqualified.
“I object to calling homosexuals mentally ill sex perverts. I find it classless and believe it hurts the conservative cause. Its ignorant.”
Heck, the shrinks used to look at gays like that...but then they chose to ‘normalize’ gay behavior back in 1971, I think. Now they’re looking at pedophiles in the same way, and trying to ‘normalize’ their behavior too.
I guess stigmatizing disgusting people is just too 20th century to be tolerated anymore.
I think less subtlety is required, too. A lot less, how about the plain truth for a change?
I object to calling homosexuals mentally ill sex perverts. I find it classless and believe it hurts the conservative cause. Its ignorant.
If that comment is ignorant, which part do you think is wrong? They aren't mentally ill, or they aren't perverts?
Far too accurate for some people
“I guess stigmatizing disgusting people is just too 20th century to be tolerated anymore.
The 60s brought us toleration for consenting adults. Stigmas for divorce, homosexuality, single parenthood, are gone to our detriment. To put that genie back into the bottle is going to take years of persuasion, but name-calling is not going to help that.
Pedophilia, by definition, is not. It is a criminal act and still bears the worst of stigmas and rightly so. Those who try to normalize such things should be shunned.
You do know that Perry liked McCain too?
