>>> Banking insider = no way in hell he gets my vote (and a lot of people will feel this way)

I saw the video where he responded to this charge.
It didn’t sound to me like he was either real high up in the chain or that he was any kind of insider.

I remember him mentioning a FED branch in Kansas that he was serving at, and that his duties involved serving on some board of directors for that region... but I do not know if my memory of that video serves me well.

Maybe you have more specific details about his service (when and where) that would qualify him as a “banking insider”.

I would certainly like to know.

I find it interesting that we can so easily disqualify someone like Cain for related government service, while at
the same time disqualifying him for NOT serving in elected government office. Under that line of thinking, Bachman should be disqualified as a “Washington Insider”.

Why doesn’t it work both ways?

He didn't just work at the Fed bank, he was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. You don't get to that level if you're not a banking insider.

Also he has a devastating column he penned in 2005 that he's going to have a hard time getting past, should he ever be a serious enough candidate for someone to care.
