Everyone here in Palinville who looks forward to good hard competition will be relieved to know that Gov. Rick Perry was NOT drunk at last nights debate, all appearances to the contrary. Its just that before taking the stage he inexplicably chose to receive a Gardasil shot, one of whose known side effects is mental slowness.
I heard about the whole pre-debate immunization from Michele Bachmanns Twitter.I could be wrong on that. Its just the information I received.
But enough about my opinion of Perrys debate performance, lets hear Dan Riehls

I’m not saying don’t do anything on tax reform, just that the 999 plan has zero chance and isn’t well thought out.
Anyone earning less than 50k a year would take it in the shorts.
I never said that. Ase you projecting?
Criticism accepted! I agree the author’s words were too harsh - I should have edited them out altogether and posted directly to Dan Riehl’s actual post. I agree with your valid observation. It won’t happen again!

Respectfully, that’s not true. What makes you say that? (I think I know where you get this, but we’ll see...)

Prefer your choking on your snarkiness with or without ketchup?
Our nation, and the world, is on the verge of complete fiscal ruin. Advocating "do nothing different" is the dogma of political cowards. We have no more time for this gutless "hide our head in the sand and pretend nothing is seriously wrong" political thinking.
Now is a time for leadership, not echos. Sorry that causes you to go into hysteric panic mode.
Man up or go home.
Is her record that squeeky clean that we can’t talk about hers, just Perry’s and Romney’s?
However you see her, the comparison to Reagan on any level is childish and insulting.
I don’t doubt her conservative credentials, but she is not the savior of the nation.
She’s a decent half-term governor who was party to a losing ticket. Nothing more.
Cain is right at the top for me right now. He has a lev el of dignity, maturity, common sense, real world experience, tone, temperment, and presentation that i like.
Exceptional insight. I greatly appreciate this fact based, historical education and context from a Texas Freeper. Thank you, sir.
You pay 9% with no deductions and 9% fed sales tax on everything you spend money on. Any allready taxed savings you have are now worth 9% less.
Those on the low end of the scale have to spend everything they make just to get by.
You avoided my question.
Moose, Donkey, Elephant, Tricycle, Jeep, Unicycle - I don’t really care what she rides into the WHite House on. It’s her ability to cut through all the crap, the corruption, good ‘ol boy networks, media bias and restore our constitutional principles that matters most.
You are doing an analysis with a couple of flaws. First, they will not be paying the 15% FICA so they will be 6% ahead on income. Second, you are assuming that there will be no growth and no increased hiring and no more dynamic economy. Third, you are not taking into count that many goods and services will be less expensive since corporate taxes are lower. All of this will happen.
The FAIR Tax, which Cain also likes, has a provision to mitigate taxes on food and so on for certain lower incomes - but that’s way too complicated to get into on an internet post.
The bottom line is, you can’t pull a couple of features from the plan and apply it to reality exactly as it exists now. The whole reason for the 999 or any reform plan is to CHANGE THE REALITY AS IT EXISTS NOW for the better.
I’ll pose the question to you since you think Perry is an open border’s hack.
Texas has spent 230 million dollars in recent years policing their border with Mexico for the safety of their citizens. Put a dollar amount on what it would take to say that Rick Perry isn’t an open border’s hack.
Is there any amount that he can spend to protect the border that would convince you?
Vote for me you heartless racists!
- Rick Perry
“Now is a time for leadership, not echos.”
Who shall provide this leadership that you speak of?
IMO, Perry's political science brains have miscalculated badly. What sells in Texas isn't necessarily going to sell nation wide. And at some point the voters are going to expect a candidate to at least reasonably articulate what they believe in and why.
Perry has now called you (over two debates) a heartless racist.
Just like the fairy tax, a flawed plan that sounds good until you crunch the numbers and apply the result to the majority of the population.
