After three debates, the consensus among conservative commentators is that GOP frontrunner Rick Perry is getting worse, not better. That's good news for Mitt Romney, who has been closing the gap with Perry in recent days. Intrade now sees the ex-Massachusetts governor as the most likely Republican nominee.

Good grief. Is this really the best the GOP can offer as our country faces economic ruin? It seems incredible that Obama could win election after all of the damage he's done to the nation's economy and financial future but with this assortment of GOP candidates it could happen.

I will predict now that none of the nine will be on the ballot against Obama, at least not at the top of the ticket.

I said what I said and I am sticking by it.
