Did a quick search - the fellow in question ran the largest kosher meat-packing plant in the country; he got busted on a variety of charges, including ones involving animal welfare, child labor, and financial matters. A large number of illegal workers were also discovered in a raid on his plant.
He’s appealing, partly on procedural matters.
I have no idea who’s in the right and who’s in the wrong in this matter - he’s a Hassidic Jew, and they sometimes operate on their own terms, but the guv’mint also sounds like it may have been kind of heavy-handed in the matter as well.
