Why should a tax paying U.S. citizen, who wanted to attend TU, not get in state tuition rate while someone who’s not even a U.S. citizen does?

Texas has no income tax. Colleges are partially subsidized by sales and other taxes that are paid by Texas residents. Being a “US” citizen has nothing to do with it.

And therein lies the irony of this sad "in-state tuition for illegals" issue.
