Maybe for a small-town, one-weekend-a-year event, we need to look at more meaningful numbers than total fatalities.
17 participant fatalities in those 47 weekends.

Unless you think that a 50-50 chance of seeing a pilot turned into burnt hamburger in any given year might in some way “hurt” the families who spectate.
