They are a waste of money. And you are the one that needs a little education. We, the world, are in the last few years of needing a pilot, the commercial industry would switch over to computers today if they thought they could get people to accept it. Kids born today will, they will have grown up with a computer in their hands. And yes, there has been studies made about the subject.
There will always be pilots because when SHTF you need human beings in the loop. Computers are great, when everything happens as expected.
