Can any New York Freepers tell us anything about the precincts that are reporting? In my county, 1 one vote Republican lead, with three precincts counted, might mean anything, from a Democrat blow out, to a tight race, to a Republican blow out, depending on the three precincts counted.
I have in Illinois all my life. The Democrats have election stealing down to a science. It is one thing in government that they are really good at.
The AP and no other site that I know of is breaking down the votes precinct by precinct; it’s just Queens & Brooklyn. So far Turner is winning with just Queens reporting; I think his margin might get bigger when some Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods in Brooklyn report. These are Democrats who supported Hilary, and they’re not too fond of Obama’s lashing out on Israel. So this a proxy vote for them, I think.
Here are some benchmarks to keep in mind as you watch the results:
Update: Benchmarks via Sean Trende:
In 08, Weiner carried Brooklyn portion of NY9 52/48. Queens = 65/35. Queens = 70% total vote. Theres your benchmarks.
Update: More benchmarks via Nate Silver:
NY09 over/under line: Weprin (D) would need about 54% of the votes in Queens precincts, 42% in Brooklyn precincts, to tie Turner (R)

All the precincts reporting thus far are in Queens, very early, but a good sign.
