The reporting on this issue is atrocious.
Mr. Perry holds to the Chief Executives right to issue such EOs although the public outcry on this PARTICULAR EO and the legislature's passing of a counter-action made him accept defeat on this one. In general he seems to indicate that such dictates of EO's of a similar functional nature are within the Governor's authority.Is it true the Texas Constitution allows that kind of dictatorial power? Certainly the US Constitution does not grant the President such power.
At least thats my take on Mr. Perry's comments tonight.
