One of the nation's largest American Indian tribes has sent letters to about 2,800 descendants of slaves once owned by its members, revoking their citizenship and cutting their medical care, food stipends, low-income homeowners' assistance and other services.
The Cherokee Nation acted this week after its Supreme Court upheld the results of a 2007 special vote to amend the Cherokee constitution and remove the slaves' descendants and other non-Indians from tribal rolls. The 300,000-member tribe is the biggest in Oklahoma, although many of its members live elsewhere.
Olive Anderson, 70, called the letter she received "a slap in the face."
"It tears me up to think they can attack my ancestors," Anderson said.

I am an advocate of terminating the idea of “Native American Nations”. They lost, we won.

My forefathers were born in Cherokee County, Ks...they were registered with the tribe. We never claimed right to any of our FREE stuff. I get jerked when I think some ‘Americans’ get preferencial treatment. It really miffs me.
Of course it’s racist and ethnic.
But I’m kind of at the point where I think “so what?”. Racial realities are real realities. How can anyone ignore racial realities?
I don’t see what your youtube link has to do with cherokee indians deciding to un-recognize all non-cherokee people that never should’ve been recognized as cherokee in the first place.

There are treaties and indian lands. Our governement made a deal with their government. There’s not much you can do about that.

In Minnesota, the tribe that owns a lucrative casino is trying it’d damnedest to ethnically whittle the tribe numbers down so the few thousand in the tribe get a few more bucks than just a million each each year by throwing the “non Indians” out.
When will this country realize the most racist people in this country are black or “native american”.
