Was there any photograph that did more to show the courage of the Bravest on that day?
Ladder 118 - six men of courage - captured as they head at speed across the Brooklyn Bridge and into the inferno with the blazing towers of the World Trade Center loomed clearly across the river.
That instant - the final run of Ladder 118, captured by amateur photographer Aaron McLamb still serves as an inspiration and a comfort to the dead men's loved ones 10 years later.
"He knew what was ahead, he knew what he was getting into, and he still went," said VinnieCarla Agnello, whose husband, Joey, rode the ill-fated rig.

A friend of mine is a forensic psychologist and ten years ago was working for the federal government.
She spent weeks at ground zero doing the best she could using her skills as a psychologist. On the first anniversary of 9/11 she had her first stroke and has numerous health problems since. We feel her medical problems are more than likely because of all the time spent at ground zero.
When I asked her knowing what she knows now would she do it again and without hesitation she said “Absolutely, and so would everyone else.”
That is the spirit of America, we do not hesitate to help others even knowing we may putting our life at risk in doing so. God bless America......and God bless all that have sacrificed their lives......
