Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke personally three times during the night to the security guards trapped in the besieged Israeli Embassy, in Cairo with only a metal door separating them from the mob that had destroyed the building's security barrier and managed to climb up to a waiting room.
Channel 10 reported that one of those holed up in the building, the chief security officer in the embassy, had asked the prime minister to be sure that if the incident ends badly, his parents are informed in person and not by telephone.
"You are an exceptional human being", answered Netanyahu. "And those with you are wonderful. We will do everything to get you out safely."
The Prime MInister and those present in the situation room with him all night saw the rescue through the security cameras. "It was a very moving moment", said those present.
The six embassy workers were rescued during the night from the encircled compound by Egyptian commandos. They were brought to the Cairo airport and flown to Tel Aviv along with all the embassy personnel, barring one diplomat who stayed to represent Israel in Egypt.
The rioters set fire to two of the security vehicles that were parked at the embassy.

Obama wins one.
He, of course, was the first one in. By day, POTUS. By night, he’s Bambo, super soldier.
No he doesn’t, the people were rescued.
It is time for Israel to stop committimg peace and start committing war. Serious, unrestrained, relentless war. The time for handshakes is over.
Huessein gave them the go ahead to take the Embassy.
“No he doesnt, the people were rescued.”
You’re so right. BHO (Muslim in Chief) has set about to depose any ME leader who’s peacefully coexisted with Israel, and install/support radical Islamist leaders dedicated to her eradication.
Police and military also did little initially when a group of around 30 protesters after nightfall climbed in a third-story window and raced up to the embassy floors, broke into an office and began throwing Hebrew-language documents to the crowd below. The protesters ransacked parts of two floors of the embassy for hours until police finally managed to clear them out in the early hours Saturday.
Clashes outside the embassy lasted for hours when police and military finally moved in, leaving three people dead, more than 1,000 hurt and 30 arrested. Police and army troops fired tear gas and shot live ammunition in the air trying to disperse the crowd of thousands, as cars, police vehicles and trees on the streets were set ablaze.

Agreed. I am disappointed that Israel did not set off a little explosion in the embassy after they left. It would have looked like the work of a Jihad Joe and killed some radical Jihadists.
If I was Jimmy Carter,I would be pissed.
The only thing that came out of his time in office is the peace treaty between Eqypt and Israel. Now Obama blew the hell out of that.
Well, Carter always has Habitat for Humanity to fall back on,right?
MY sense is that Israel is getting very close to a strike on the Iranina nuke site..but she would face war with Turket, Egypt, Syria, as well as Hamas/Hezbollah..
What would Obama do for her?
Israel should nuke Cairo
no great loss
Your right, The Muslims know that Obama is going to lose the election so they have until Jan. 2013 to attack. The prime time for them will be right after the election. That will give them two months before the the next administration takes over.
Funny you should bring that up...Dead fish everywhere and the land starting at Aswan on down the Nile uninhabitable for 40 years is what was was prophecied nearly three thousand years ago.
I have my doubts about that...probably U.S. Army SpecOps, Delta Force likely.
Remember that Netanyahu and Obama talked on the phone very shortly after the Muzzies got in.
“MY sense is that Israel is getting very close to a strike on the Iranina nuke site.”
It is questionable how effective that would be. The opinions we get to read seem to be in agreement that at very best, a strike might delay the program a year or two. Of course Israel could nuke Qom (it would be like nuking the Vatican) or even the whole country, but neither of those is going to happen.
Where are the naive dupes and dolts who praised the “Arab Spring” now?
Rhetorical, the drive by state department and media has moved on...soon they will depart Lybia content in the knowledge the arsenals have been looted for future use elsewhere.
The only thing between Israel being overtaken by a horde of 1000BC mentalities is the knowledge they can take a whole lot of them out, which they would do, and I don’t mean by Uzis.
Prophesied by whom?
