Election '12: Mainstream media have outrageously relegated Michele Bachmann to second-tier status in the GOP presidential race. But Wednesday's debate showed that in many ways, she rises above all the competition.
Of the eight Republican presidential candidates debating at the presidential library of the man who won the Cold War, only one mentioned the gravest threat facing the world today.
That candidate was Rep. Michele Bachmann. Asked about the military role of the U.S. in the world, Bachmann warned that "the biggest issue in the Middle East" is "a nuclear Iran" and that Barack Obama has "put us more at risk than at any time."
The entry of Texas Gov. Rick Perry has led many to write Bachmann's death report, but her debate performance confirmed how vital her presence in the race is.
Her opposition to U.S. involvement in Libya, for instance, displayed a wisdom that's sorely absent from the Obama White House and was in short supply in the Bush White House too. With "no American vital interest in Libya" and not knowing "who the rebel forces were in Libya," helping topple Moammar Gadhafi could mean the U.S. will give huge oil revenues to "a global caliphate" of radical Islamists, Bachmann warned.

My heart belongs to Sarah. Michele was magnificent last night.
I did not watch the debate. I was going to watch it, but when Brian Williams started right away out bashing the candidates, I changed the channel immediately and watched something else
She stuck to her guns and did well with what little time she was given.
The Left isn’t just afraid of Bachmann becoming president; they’re afraid of anyone noticing her at all.
She has real courage of her convictions and that’s really rare in Washington these days.
Something I’ve noticed. A lot of people are declaring 3rd place Bachmann’s race to be over but they aren’t saying the same about 4 through 10.
She sticks to her guns, but opponents spin this as offering nothing new.
Congress has been offering us something new for the last several years and look what its gotten us.
