Jordan Muslim Brotherhood Wants Israeli Ambassador Expelled

Global media is reporting on comments by the leader of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood praising Turkey’s decision to expel and Israeli ambassador and call on Jordan and Egypt to do the same. According to one report:

05/09/2011(MENAFN – Youm7) The head of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in Jordan, Hammam Said, praised Turkey’s decision to expel the Israeli ambassador in Ankara and freeze military agreements. Said called on the governments of Jordan and Egypt to follow suit and expel the ambassadors of Israel from Amman and Cairo.”Turkey’s decision to expel the Israeli ambassador is a model of foreign policy, reflecting national interest and dignity and not accepting normalization,” he said in a statement on Saturday.Said said Turkey rendered other Arabs shameful, especially with the continuation of violations of Palestinian rights in Jerusalem and the continuation of building settlements.Violations also include border fires, contaminated water and the issue of Jordanian prisoners and missing people.

A previous post reported on comments by the leader of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood’s political wing demanding punishment for those in Jordan who may have warned Israel about the recent Eilat terror attacks.

Hamza Mansour, secretary-general of the Islamic Action Front, the political party of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, condemned the warning Jordan had sent Israel of the attacks in Eilat. He claimed that this was “opprobrious security cooperation with the enemy, which constitutes a danger to Jordan, Palestine, and the Arab and Islamic ummah,” and demanded that the government penalize those responsible for passing on the warning and oust them from the security and diplomatic service.
