The problem with the article is that it attempts to immunize Palin from any criticism—any criticism whatsoever. While it states that policy criticisms are permitted, it completely negates the statement when it essentially states that all criticism of Palin is an attack on Conservatives. The permitted criticism is eviscerated and swallowed by the dominant rule that if you criticize Palin it is a personal attack both on her and the Conservative movement.

All candidates have their strengths and weaknesses. The attempt here to eliminate honest discussion of the same weakens a potential Palin candidacy.

The second sentence in the article:

So yes, I do take it personally when conservatives lash out at Palin not because of her policy positions or what she’s done or not done in her career, but with personal invective.

How one can take that to be an attempt to immunize Palin from any criticism is beyond me. He said it plain and clear, criticize her record, criticize her policies, argue against her but don't use this pettiness that has come from so called media conservatives lately.
