"Palin does not represent the Tea Party nor is she the leader of the Tea Party. She’s a speaker at some Tea Party events.

The Tea Party is much bigger and hopefully, more long lasting than Palin, unless we wreck it by trying to narrow it down to fit into Palin’s pocket."

I don't recall Governor Sarah Palin ever claiming to be the "leader" or even a "leader" of the Tea Party movement. If you can link to such a quote, I'd appreciate it. And what exactly do you mean by "more long lasting than Palin?" A non-declared private citizen running a strong third in almost every major poll doesn't sound like someone who is fading away, or do you disagree? http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/republican_presidential_nomination-1452.html

I did not say that Palin made that claim. It was Ann C. who made the claim in the article you posted. That is going to be the media spin to kill the Tea Party as soon as Palin either does not run or loses the nomination or election. They also are trying to narrow the Tea Party to Palin advocates only.

They will say that since she is not President, the Tea Party is dead. I hope the tea party is alive and well and BIG for the coming decade at least and not dependent on one politican the media annoints as “our leader.” We don’t have a leader.

I think it is safe to say that the Tea Party agrees on one thing - business as usual in DC is unacceptable and Obama’s vision for the US is hell. From my experience as an organizer in Texas, that is about all you can honestly say about our tea partiers.
