I like Ann & Laura (I’m presently reading both of their books) but I think sometimes people like these two live in a kind of northeastern bubble that disables them from connecting to what real america is believing. OTOH maybe they’re just jealous of her book sales and the fact that she was a man.
Grew up in state next to theirs ( They grew up in CT ) and I am familiar with their hometowns etc.
They remind me of my sister(s) ( sometimees drunken ) college roommates with their quasi sarcastic / sardonic humor. Yes they are the same age as my sisters.
I am convinced it is not just North East but generational as well. Some sort of an 80's MTV Timewarp Thing.... For some reason, Laura grates me more than Ann at times, I have to turn her off, like nails on a chalkboard...
