I loved the fact that they weren’t declaring combat with the candidates.

This was a great way to get to specifics and have them getting questions from knowledgeable people.

I few more of these forums would be a great place to start.

What’s interesting about Bachmann is that all the recent polling I have seen shows that she actually is electable against Obama. I had sort of written her off, thinking she wouldn’t appeal to the general population. But based on recent polling and this performance, I am going to give her another look.

Where to I sign the petition to make Robert P. George the official national presidential forum moderator?

That guy is amazing!

I feel smarter just having listened to the man.

“the real loser is Perry for not coming.”

I would have to respectfully disagree. Perry did go to SC and planned to appear at Sen. DeMint’s panel. Earlier in the day he addressed a group in Myrtle Beach, SC then headed back to TX. I would think any governor would have done the same thing under the circumstances.

I was disappointed that Perry didn’t appear in this forum, would have loved to see all the candidates and potential candidates there, but would probably have been more disappointed had Gov Perry appeared and not returned to perform his duties as Gov of TX. Only a governor can declare a “State of Emergency.” There have been at least two deaths as a result of the fires, and thousands of acres and hundreds of homes destroyed.

There’s a debate Wednesday night and hopefully the fires in TX are at least somewhat under control by then.

I agree with you. I was able to hear him speak to pre law and law students once. I ended up having to diagram his sentences to understand what he was saying.

getting questions from knowledgeable people.

Refreshing, wasn't it?

And it made the candidates so much more relaxed and natural. Not one of them seemed nervous or stressed. They knew there were no gotchas around the corner, just business.

As it should be.

“I am going to give her another look.”

I’m glad to hear that. She is such a moral person, and received the highest rating on immigration from NumbersUSA of all of the candidates. I think NumbersUSA is too strict with their marks, but even they, gave her a B-, which would probably mean she’s an A+ :)

She’ll be great with our economy, is a Constitutional conservative, and has a spine.

Why did Demint exclude McCotter?

Thousands are being run out of or losing their home in this Texas fire! Perry is still the Governor and has a responsibility to lead during this crisis. Btw, has Obama declared a state of emergency in Texas yet? I doubt it.
