She once said she’d be running if no good alternative candidate appeared. If she declares she’ll run now, it will be seen as a shot at Perry. I don’t think she wants to do that. If she doesn’t, and he wins the nomination, she can probably take the VP spot without breaking a sweat. Given the boost she provided to the McCain campaign, I’m sure she could only help Perry’s ticket.
Whereas if she runs for president, it’s possible she’d lose the primaries, lose the nomination, take more unnecessary crap from various quarters.
The risk/benefit thing says she won’t run for president.
Still, I’d rather she did. :(
Well Perry went back on this word & I’m sure Gov. Palin does look kindly on someone who does that.
I was quite sure that he wasnt going to run, because he was adamant until about four months ago that he wasnt going to run, she said. But she was quick to add that Perrys change of heart was fine. I was surprised that he had changed his position on that, but Im glad that hes going to be in there.
A reporter asked whether, if Obama had committed that sort of flip-flop, she would be more critical, she laughed. I probably would, to tell you the truth, she said
Even with Perry in the race, she said, I see room in the field. Definitely.
If at the end of the line hes the one left standing, I would be extremely enthused about him because Im a believer in ABO anybody but Obama. So, absolutely. But theres still a long time in this process, Palin said, adding that Perrys entry doesnt affect her decision making.
