The ‘one child policy’ is having a devastating effect on the demographics in China.

Why? Because the Chinese, like many other cultures, have a cultural bias in favor of male heirs. As a result, when a mandatory govenrment policy for one child exists and is enforced, female children are often aborted in the hope that the next child will be male.

Imagine a country where millions of men cannot marry because they can’t find a mate. If I were a country on their border, I’d be worried that their large land army might simply decide to invade to secure women.

I have a number of Chinese friends and it is not so much due to a lack of Chinese women as to the Chinese women knowing better than to marry a certain common type of Chinese male. Does not make much money, poor manners, unfaithful, spends most evenings away from home.
